Images in tile are a Colorado based company that produce full color images onto ceramic tiles. Spence Mamber join CEO of Images In Tile owns a string a photographic studios across the Western USA and has an impressive array of renowned photographers that they reproduce images for. When the idea of being able to take these images and reproduce them on to ceramic tile murals was put to him by Paul Whitehill Images In Tile was born.

Sawgrass Technologies were approached with a view to providing a sublimation print system that would deliver both cost effective transfers and reliable accurate colors. Paul Whitehill said “Because of the caliber of the photographers that we work with the need for accurate color reproduction was paramount so we sent some of the sublimation ink companies sample images to test print for us. The Tropical transfers that were returned were far superior to the others we saw with much more vibrant colors”

After the initial sampling stage we took a look at the estimated production requirements for Images In Tile and decided that rather than install one high speed printer it would make sense to run two slower printers which would enable them to make production runs as well as allowing for rush jobs to be completed on the other printer. Spence Mamber commented “ The decision to utilize two printers instead of one made me feel comfortable as just in case we did have any technical problems we had the security of a backup printer, but after 12 months of constant printing we have never had a problem”

We are now the first company to be licensed to sell imaged tile to over 300 Dall Tile showrooms throughout North America are are currently looking at increasing our printing capacity with Tropical in the very near future”
